Manufacturers’ revenue for IP/MPLS routers in 2010 increased 21% year-on-year to $8.6 billion, approaching the record level reached in 2008.

The report cites the expansion of mobile backhaul and backbone networks as key areas of the market growth.

By rank, top vendors were Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, and Tellabs.
