Siano, Borqs sign deal on OPhone launch

Siano Mobile Silicon and Borqs jointly announced that the two firms have been tapped in the the launch of ZTE’s exciting new model of the OPhone.

In a statement, the phone will use Borqs’ OPhone system supported by Siano’s SMS2186 CMMB receiver. This partnership indicates that Siano and Borqs, the two leading OPhone CMMB solutions providers, will continue to strengthen joint efforts towards accelerating the development of China’s smartphone market.

Further collaboration between Siano and Borqs is very beneficial for OPhone customers. Combining the two industry leaders’ unique expertise to support world-class mobile manufacturers, will provide Chinese end-users with a top of the line product and a new mobile experience.

The OPhone model uses Borqs’ Linux-based open source smartphone OMS 2.5 platform. Combined with Siano’s CMMB receiver SMS2186, the ZTE OPhone aims at providing cost-efficient and high quality smartphone access to all China Mobile customers.
