SingTel has entered an agreement with regional associate Globe Telecom to strengthen the Philippine operator's information security capabilities.

Under the agreement SingTel, which owns a 21.5% stake in Globe, will provide capabilities from recent acquisition TrustWave for Globe's Managed Security Services.

The deal covers the supply of services in areas including vulnerability assessment, network, application and content security, endpoint security and access control.

The frequency and sophistication of cyber attacks and breaches are on the increase across all industries in the Southeast Asian region. About 39% of observed organisations in the Philippines were targeted with advanced cyber attacks in the first half of 2015, above the global average of about 20%,” SingTel Group Enterprise CEO Bill Chang commented.

“It is imperative for businesses to stay one step ahead of such cyber threats. This partnership leverages Globe’s intimate understanding of the local landscape, Singtel’s experience in providing managed services, and TrustWave’s expertise in delivering enterprise-grade managed security services.”
