SingTel has entered into an agreement with Cybernet of Pakistan to provide IP-VPN coverage in Karachi, an AFP report said.

The AFP report, quoting a SingTel statement, said the carrier was offering its ConnectPlus IP-VPN service in Pakistan for the first time in response to growing demand from enterprises for secure and reliable communications.

'In South Asia, Pakistan is fast becoming a popular destination among the corporate world for back-end process operations,' said Wong Soon Nam, SingTel VP of business marketing.

Cybernet is Pakistan's largest Internet and data network operator, the AFP report said.

Cybernet COO Ansar ul Haq said his firm's partnership with SingTel is designed to 'meet the requirements of customers who are looking for reliable, secure and high capacity IP-VPN access.'
