Hong Kong mobile operator SmarTone-Vodafone has selected Bridgewater Systems to provide a comprehensive policy management solution that will help optimize its mobile services and revenue streams.
SmarTone-Vodafone says that by deploying the Bridgewater Systems Dynamic Broadband Manager and AAA Service Controller, it can target specific subscriber segments and differentiate services for them, manage and control network resources in real time and improve the overall subscriber network experience.
Using the solution, SmarTone-Vodafone can manage network policies in real time over its HSDPA network on a per-subscriber, per-session basis. The solution also allows the telco to create customized service tiers, and limit bandwidth consumption by applications such as peer-to-peer traffic, or by subscriber based on time and other controls.
