The Wimax Forum has announced a software tool to help suppliers test equipment while allowing operators to evaluate network planning, capacity and product capabilities.
This NS-2 based testing application tool provides a unified simulation tool based on the group's system profiles and facilitates sharing of results and publication of technical papers.
This NS-2 Simulator enables vendors and service providers to test an applications performance over Wimax networks, such as VoIP, according to the Wimax Forum.
The said software is built on the open-source model and available to all Wimax Forum member companies. More than 200 users have pre-registered for access to the application.
