Comsys said it has supplied the first batch of ComMAX CM1100 baseband chips to Taiwanese device manufacturer dmedia.

dmedia will begin certification of its G6 WiMAX-enabled personal navigation device, according to Comsys.

The G6 device adds Wimax support to dmedia's device platform. In May last year, dmedia said has selected Comsys' ComMAX processors to power its new line of devices, supporting both GSM and Wimax.

Incorporating Wimax will allow PNDs to add continuous Internet connectivity to support navigation, location and tracking features, according to dmedia.
