Tech Mahindra announced the launch of its SDN and NFV solutions suite to address the changing network scenarios and demands in building the smart cities.

Research reports said global SDN-NFV spends is going to reach close to $35 Billion in 2018 with a growth rate of more than 20% through 2018.

Tech Mahindra has established itself as a key player in the SDN-NFV space and offers vendor neutral System Integration capabilities and highly scalable Managed Services to its customers.

Tech Mahindra said it aims to lower customers’ TCO by 25% to 30% “with powerful, innovative portfolio of reusable NFV and SDN components like Load Balancer and Bandwidth Management.”

As a part of this suite of solutions, Tech Mahindra has developed a carrier grade Virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) solution that scales independently for control and data plane surges.

Tech Mahindra’s 3GPP compliant vEPC comes with a custom developed VNF manager that enhances virtualization platforms for carrier grade requirements of virtual network functions. This would result in significant reduction in capex as vEPC runs on commodity x86 hardware, provide for a highly scalable & flexible solution and ensure effective resource utilization.

The new service offering comes from the Digital Enterprise Services (DES) unit of Tech Mahindra. The unit offers innovative and customer-centric services and solutions integrating technology with business that answer today’s issues, anticipate tomorrow’s needs and create Future Proof and Future Ready Solutions using seven technologies namely Networks, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud, Security, Social and Sensors.
