Indian telecommunications firm Tech Mahindra bagged a $700-million contract from BT Group to improve the latter's IT infrastructure, a Reuters report said.

'At any given time we are chasing big deals and long-term contracts, but this is purely speculative,' the report quoted C.P. Gurnani, president for international operations, Tech Mahindra, as saying.

BT is Tech Mahindra's largest client, accounting for nearly 60% of its business, the Economic Times newspaper also said.

When contacted, a company spokesperson declined to comment on the report.
