Telcordia Technologies has launched the Telcordia Service Interconnection Community, a member-based initiative that aims to help accelerate the adoption of VoIP and IMS-based services via IP interconnection.

Tecordia says the initiative also aims to reduce associated integration costs by helping to ensure that network elements and operations support systems interoperate with the Telcordia Service Interconnection Registry.

Acme Packet, NetNumber, NexTone and Nominum are the first community members, after having successfully completed Telcordia's interoperability tests, a requirement for community membership.

Membership in the Telcordia Service Interconnection Community supports all stages of an IP service's life cycle, from infrastructure building to operations.
