Outlook for 2013: Key opportunities and challenges
To gain insight into the most pressing issues facing telcos as they look to the new year, Telecom Asia is holding a one-day Insight Summit for senior-level executives from across the region.
Telecom Asia is organizing the November Summit to create a forum for senior telco executives to discuss their key challenges and opportunities, and to share their priorities for 2013. We will also use the event to help us plan our editorial coverage for next six months.
The day will kick off with presentations by two senior analysts/consultants -- Amrish Kacker from Analysys Mason and Andrew Hamilton from Value Partners -- who will look at the the potential growth areas, outline strategies to slow margin declines and highlight trends that will have the most disruptive impact on telcos.
The morning presentations will be followed by a panel on “If you had a clean palette to start with, what would you do differently?” moderated by TM Forum market strategist Tony Poulos.
In the afternoon two additional panel discussions will be held concurrently: A Business Focus session moderated by group editor Joseph Waring and a Technology Focus one led by global technology editor John Tanner.
Each panel will bring together five to six telco executives and a senior analyst from a leading research firm as well as a representative from the sponsoring organization. Attendees will be asked to share their ideas on ways to revive growth, boost profits and streamline operations. The objective is to brainstorm and outline the key priorities on how to thrive in 2013 and beyond.
Not only will we gather a list of the priorities for the future, we’ll also summarize each discussion in an article to be published in our yearend issue. In addition to a print coverage, our editors will conduct video interviews with key executives after the discussions. The edited clips will run on our website.
The Summit will be followed by our annual Readers’ Choice Awards, starting with cocktail reception at 5:30 pm.
