Telstra appoints group MDs for networks, media & marketing

Telstra has expanded its executive committee by appointing Mark Buckman as group managing director for media and marketing, and Mike Wright as group managing director for networks.

CEO David Thodey said Buckman and Wright would immediately join the senior executive group which supports the CEO leadership team.


Buckman’s role will encompass all of Telstra’s brand and digital media growth activities. He joined Telstra in late 2010 as chief marketing officer and took extra responsibilities last year as Executive Director Digital Media and IPTV/Pay TV.

Wright, a 33-year veteran of the organization, is recognized as a leading international network engineer and oversaw the creation of Telstra’s renowned 4G mobile network for its customers.

Equinix hires Sainti Li to lead China operations

Equinix has appointed Sainti Li as managing director of Equinix China.

Li has more than 30 years of technical support, sales and marketing, product management, business development and general management experience in the ICT industry.

Li worked for global companies such as IDT Telecom, AT&T, IBM, Fujitsu-ICL and Siemens Nixdorf.

Aruba Networks appoints country manager for HK & Macau

Kenneth Ma has joined Aruba Networks as country manager of Hong Kong and Macau.

In his new role, Ma will lead business growth, strengthen partner relationships and develop sales channels for the company in the two markets. He will report directly to Gary Jackson, the company’s vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan.

Prior to joining Aruba Networks, Ma worked as general manager of sales in CITIC Telecom International CPC Limited. He is also a committee member of the Cloud Computing Special Interest Group (CCSIG) of Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) and a member of the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council (HKITJC).

Ma has over 17 years of sales and management experience, including 14 years focused on the information technology and telecommunications industries.
