Telefonica Digital expands MDM offering

Telefonica Digital is gearing up to expand availability of a mobile device management tool it has developed in conjunction with mobile security firm AirWatch.

The digital division of Spanish incumbent Telefonica is preparing to double the number of markets its Security Mobile Device Management product is available in by launching it in Germany, Peru and Chile. The web based platform offers end-to-end device management, security tools, and real time monitoring of devices used by businesses.

“Businesses face significant security challenges when capturing the opportunity that mobile technology offers in terms of productivity and efficiency gains,” explains Jose Perdomo, global security managing director at Telefonica Digital. “This partnership with AirWatch puts us in an excellent position to meet the needs of our clients in this area.”

AirWatch president and chief executive, John Marshall, adds that the collaboration will enable businesses to “manage and secure their most sensitive content, applications and email.”
