Telstra Global announced that it has started offering LTE roaming services across the Asia-Pacific region using Tekelec’s Diameter Signaling Router (DSR).

Tekelec’s DSR is providing the Diameter signaling hub for Telstra Global’s IPX service.

It enables the secure exchange of authorization, authentication, billing, charging and network policies that use the diameter protocol to maintain subscribers’ LTE services while visiting international markets.

Telstra Global IPX Service offers a platform that enables mobile operators to introduce new services and applications such as mobile gaming and video streaming.

According to market research and consulting company Parks Research, by the end of the year 53% of the world’s 4G/LTE subscribers will be in the Asia-Pacific region.
