Telstra-owned Sensis CEO Bruce Akhurst quits

The CEO of Telstra's directories business, Sensis, will leave the company in May after 15 years service.

Akhurst joined Telstra as general counsel in 1996 and was later appointed to the role of group MD of legal and regulatory before moving to lead wholesale and BigPond. He has been with Sensis for the past seven years.

Telstra has started searching for Akhurst’s replacement, the company said in a statement.

Until one is found Rick Ellis, Group MD of Telstra Digital Media, will take over as acting CEO and work through a transition period.
