VADSBerhad (VADS)
, the infocomm technology (ICT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) arm of Telekom Malaysia (TM), has attained VMware vCloud Powered status for its VADS Cloud Services and become a member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP).

The validation will enable VADS to further improve its virtualization efficiency in providing complete public, hybrid and private cloud services to SMEs, enterprises and the public sector, said Ahmad Azhar Yahya, CEO of VADS.

"The VMware vCloud Powered programme was developed to enable our service provider partners to differentiate themselves and to bring their enterprise-class cloud services to market in a competitive landscape," said Kevin Pratesa, director of Service Providers & Public Cloud for ASEAN.

For instance, VADSnow allows customers to easily move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and back again through efficiently integrated service orchestration and IT resource management.

VADS grew from a joint venture between IBM Global Network Services (which was acquired by AT&T in 1998) and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) in 1991. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of TM, serving more than 500 medium to large businesses across industries. Its main activities are value added services, IT services and BPO.
