Thai telco TrueMove has announced that it expects to end 2012 with 3 million 3G subscribers, falling somewhat short of the 4 million it had predicted at the beginning of the year.

It has set sights on 6 million by the end of 2013 now that it appears to have secured a 2.1-GHz 3G licence.

Meanwhile, TrueMove’s head of enterprise and international Songtham Phianpattanawit has said the conglomerate is looking at expanding into Myanmar as soon as licences are offered.

Songtham said that True is looking to invest in cable TV and in fiber optic networks in the newly opened country to add to its growing portfolio in Laos, Malaysia and Cambodia.
