After launching its services in Hong Kong last year, Truphone announced the expansion of its ‘Truphone Zone’ to include Germany.
The expansion means that Hong Kong clients can now talk, SMS and download in Germany - as well as the US, UK, Australia, and The Netherlands - at local rates.
Truphone customers in Hong Kong will now have phone numbers for six countries centralized onto one SIM card, breaking down borders by allowing them to treat the countries in the ‘zone’ as their home territory.
The carrier further said customers won’t have to worry about roaming or data charges when visiting said countries.
Alex Ip, SVP for APAC, said, “Germany is the most important trade partner for Hong Kong within the EU, and with more than 500 German businesses located here, we know that there is a real need for the two countries connect easily.”
