A group of vendors, including Juniper and Infinera, have joined forces to demonstrate the interoperability of 100GE.

The vendors, which also included Finistar, Opnext, Exfo, Ixia and Reflex Photonics, showcased the ability to pass 100GE traffic between a router and an optical transport system using two different CFP optical transceivers.

The demonstration, which was conducted at the OFC/NFOEC conference in San Diego, used a Juniper core router, an Infinera DTN optical system and CFP optical transceiver modules from Finistar, Opnext and Reflex Photonics. The signal was generated using test sets from Exfo and Ixia.

"Today's demonstration is more evidence that 100 GigE is moving rapidly toward production deployments,” Juniper executive vice president Stefan Dyckerhoff said.
