Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation has launched the Jaguar family of Ethernet devices designed to suit the demands of carrier Ethernet applications.
The Jaguar family's architecture incorporates full IEEE-1588 functionality and OAM, with functions including Ethernet timing support compatible with Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE-1588v2.
Vitesse boasts that the products can provide OEMs and service providers with five-9s reliability over packet-based networks.
The Jaguar family currently consists of four devices – two carrier Ethernet switches, and two media access controllers.
