Vubiquity, Akamai sign pact on 'content-as-a service'

Vubiquity and Akamai Technologies have announced a partnership designed to help network service providers or content owners launch over-the-top video services.

The content-as-a-service offering combines Vubiquity's AnyVU Cloud and the Akamai Intelligent Platform to offer licensed content library along with cloud-based content workflows, storage and delivery.

AnyVU Cloud will support Vubiquity’s current roster of service provider and content provider customers as well as new OTT and OVP platforms.

AnyVU Cloud will house licensed transactional, electronic sell-through – including digital locker fulfillment – and subscription Video on Demand content, as well as free-on-demand TV and live linear feeds.
