The Philippines' PLDT has lost a Supreme Court petition seeking to quash a directive, in which regulator SEC was tasked with investigating whether the operator violates legal foreign ownership limits.        
 
Bharti Airtel is considering merging its Indian and African telecom operations into a single business, presided over by a global CEO. The restructuring could be complete by mid-2013.
