Yahoo expands mobile search efforts

Yahoo has rolled out a series of new features for its oneSearch mobile search service, including voice search, an auto-locate feature that exploits cell tower triangulation and Wi-Fi to detect the user's location, and a client for Windows Mobile devices.

Yahoo oneSearch Shortcut enables one-click access to oneSearch services and -- with the addition of voice search -- users may now speak or type their query directly from the device homescreen.

The service is now available for WinMo, BlackBerry and Nokia devices and is now running on select handsets in the Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
