ZTE has entered into a yearlong agreement with Packet One Networks (Malaysia) to help expand its nationwide Wimax network, which is now on its second phase.

The project will bring "unparalleled user experience" to P1\'s subscribers to access the internet faster via a ubiquitous and high-quality wireless broadband network.

The partnership is part of P1\'s strategy to ramp up its Wimax coverage for its W1max network in Malaysia, aimed at achieving a target of 30% to 35% population coverage by end of 2009.

Under the agreement, ZTE will provide technical aid and solution to P1 through including the provision of Wimax equipment, network planning and design, engineering services and network optimization.
