ZTE launches 4K TV services for Telkom Indonesia

"IndiHome fiber customers in Indonesia will soon be able to enjoy 4K TV service. This is a trend that is most talked about technology world, and Telkom will bring it to customers' homes, "said Director of Consumer Telkom Dian Rachmawan, in his statement on Tuesday (19/05/2015).

ZTE have worked with Telkom to provide quality television services to customers IndiHome Fiber 4K. And Telkom will be the first 4K operator in Indonesia. All 4K services testing and trial have finished in ZTE and TELKOM innovation center. And will commercial soon.

ZTE 4K STB (B860A) integrate their services with IPTV platform that is used as an operator Telkom Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) in Indonesia. B860A as a Hybrid STB which is equipped with the Android operating system so that customers will be able to enjoy the 4K services as well as a lot of content and applications.

Meanwhile, 4K customers can enjoy seamless IPTV services via television, personal computer, tablet, or smartphone. This will make IPTV services will be enjoyed by customers wherever the customer is located.

According to the Digital Cinema Initiatives, 4K resolution is 4096 x 2160 pixels. This resolution means 4 times greater than Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels that is currently found in the market. The higher the resolution of the TV shows the level of detail that can be displayed on the TV screen will be higher, making the image appear sharper and more indulgent eye of the television audience.

Telkom have 10 million fixed line subscribers, 3.2 million Speedy customers, and 500 thousand UseeTV. Currently IndiHome Fiber service coverage has reached 160 cities in Indonesia, which consists of 60 cities and 100 other cities. Wide service coverage in each of these cities also continues to be expanded on an ongoing basis to achieve three million subscribers including 4K subscribers at the end of 2015.
