Vendors ZTE and Ericsson yesterday both announced new appointments of executives in charge of regions of Asia-Pacific.

ZTE named company veteran Xu Dejun as the new CEO of its Indian operations.

Dejun joined ZTE in 2001, and has held roles including ZTE Africa’s head of international projects, and ZTE India’s head of technical sales.

ZTE, which earned revenue of around $700 million from its Indian operations in 2012, plans to double down its focus on its key customers in 2013, Xi said.

Separately, Ericsson has promoted Jan Signell to head of region northeast Asia, covering mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.

Signell has been an Ericsson executive since 1989, most recently as head of Ericsson Japan. He is succeeding Mats Olsson, who was promoted to senior vice president of APAC in September last year.

The changeover will be effective April 1. Signell will retain the role of head of Ericsson's Japan unit until a successor is found.
