ZTE is making a play for a slice of the UK business video conferencing market, with the launch of its first compatible products in the country.

The Chinese vendor today launched its T700 4MX and T700 8MX products via local distributor Touchline Video UK, targeting small and medium enterprises. The firm claims the products enable video calling for remote offices and tele-commuters, and can be deployed in any workplace.

A suite of ZTE video products covering telepresence, HD conferencing, surveillance, digital home equipment, and IPTV will also be distributed by Touchline. Barry Cross, managing director of the firm, says ZTE’s launch is timely, as “countless enterprises are now opting to economise on business processes and travel.”

Paul Cobos, ZTE UK sales director, says demand for videoconferencing is on the up, “as a substitute for travel, but also as a way of increasing efficiency in the workplace.”
