Two teams mired in the Western Conference play-in places collide on Tuesday morning when the Dallas Mavericks host the Sacramento Kings. With Dallas fans still stunned by the trade of Luka Dončić, new superstar power forward Anthony Davis put on a master class on his debut as the Mavericks saw off the Houston Rockets last time out. The Sacramento Kings rallied to beat the New Orleans Pelicans and ended a two-match skid. Unfortunately, Anthony Davis picked up an injury and will miss the Kings' visit. The Mavs are slight favorites to edge out the Kings at home.

Anthony Davis played for 31 minutes, but it was enough for the forward to record 26 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists and lead the Dallas Mavericks to a victory over the high-flying Houston Rockets. A fellow new acquisition, Max Christie, who came from the Los Angeles Lakers, also added 23 points. Davis, who was making his Dallas Mavericks debut and had not played since January 28 because of an abdominal strain, left the court near the end of the third quarter and is now listed as out for several weeks due to an abductor strain. The Mavs (28-25, 8th in the West) may also be without P.J. Washington, who sprained his ankle, and Max Christie and Dante Exum, with a right shoulder strain and Achilles tightness, respectively.

Anthony Davis
Just the leg got tight, like a little spasm. Just came back and tried to get it loose and everything. Dealing with the ab strain still, so just tried to get it loose. It wouldn't really loosen up and let go, but it's nothing serious. I' am fine.

On Saturday evening, the Western Conference ninth-seed Sacramento Kings returned to winning ways with a 123-118 home victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Domantas Sabonis scored his 46th double-double of the season with 27 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Kings. Newly acquired Zach LaVine, who joined from the Chicago Bulls, finished with 22 points. The two-time All-Star had his best game for the Kings, including getting his first win with the franchise. Keegan Murray contributed 19 points. The Kings held off the comeback of the Pelicans, who closed the gap to 121-118 with 15 seconds remaining.

Zach LaVine
We've got enough guys with experience that know how to handle the ball and play. But that takes more time. I think as long as we get out in transition, get easier shots, and take what the defense is giving us, not make it hard, it's gonna help.

The Dallas Mavericks are 1.83 favorites on Bet365, with the Sacramento Kings at 2.00 on the money line. Total over/under line is cut at 237.5, with the over at 1.94 on 1xbet and the under at 1.92 odds. Dallas is 2.02 to overcome the (-2.5) handicap on Betway, which lists Sacramento at 1.77 and (+2.5) handicap. Read more here.
