Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno meet for the fourth time in UFC’s first Tetralogy. The fight for the unified UFC Flyweight title is the co-main event of UFC 283, held at Jeunesse Arena, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this weekend. While Figueiredo holds the Flyweight championship belt, Moreno is the interim Flyweight champion. The pair first fought in December 2020 at UFC 256, and the bout ended in a majority draw. Brandon Moreno won the next fight in June 2021 by submission to take the Flyweight belt. Deiveson Figueiredo won the trilogy one year ago to regain the championship.

The 5’ 5” Brazilian is the two-time and current UFC Flyweight champion and number ten in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. Since 2020, Figueiredo has not fought anyone other than Brandon Moreno. Ahead of the fight, Figueiredo has spoken of his desire to move up to Bantamweight as he has struggled to make weight at 125 pounds. Since the trilogy fight and the close win over Moreno to regain the Flyweight strap, Figueiredo has been recovering from injuries.

After losing the trilogy bout to his arch rival in January 2020, the 29-year-old Mexican fought and defeated Kai Kara-France in July 2022 to win the interim UFC Flyweight championship. Number one in the UFC Flyweight rankings and number 15 in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings, Moreno captured the Flyweight title when he submitted Figueiredo in their second fight. “The Assassin Baby” became the Legacy Fighting Alliance Flyweight champion in his promotional debut in 2019 while on a hiatus from the UFC. He is Mexico’s first UFC champion.
