Belgian player Alison Van Uytvanck claimed the Astana Open after beating the top-seeded Yulia Putinseva in a come-from-behind win. The scoreline read 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in Alison’s favor. The intensity of the game comes as no surprise since Alison got the second seed in the tournament.
Before the loss, Yulia had lost one set in the four games before while this turned out to be Alison’s second three-set match in the tournament. In the Semis, Yulia beat Rebecca Peterson while Alison beat Jaqueline Cristian, both two-set wins.
