Lyon lost the game 3-0 despite having a 57% possession control but they could only come up with eight attempts on the goal despite having the ball more than half of the time. Meanwhile Angers attack fired 13 attempts and 6 balls were on target. The goal procession started when Stefanos Boufal nailed one at the twentieth minute mark. The biggest mistake for Lyon came in the second half when Marcelo committed an own goal at the 53rd minute mark putting Lyon up 2-0. Later Azz-Eddine Ounahi put the nail in the coffin with a goal at the 77th minute mark. Lyon played with 10 men for the last 25 minutes or so as Maxwel Cornet received a red card.
