Russian UFC fighter Magomed Ankalaev in an interview with MMA.Metaratings.ru evaluated his upcoming opponent, the Brazilian Thiago Santos he will fight with on the night of March 13 in Las Vegas as part of UFC Vegas 50.

“He's a good fighter, but I wouldn't say he's very technical. He just swings with a powerful punch. He's dangerous on the ground, but I think I can beat him anyway.”

In the last fight he fought five rounds, and he breathed well. I think that he is in good trim and wants to get the title. So I think we will have a very good fight and everyone will do their best to win. Therefore, this fight should be spectacular,” Ankalaev said.

Ankalaev had his last fight against the Swiss Volkan Oezdemir in October 2021 as part of the UFC 267 tournament. In this confrontation, the Russian fighter won by unanimous decision. He has 16 wins and one loss.

Santos last entered the octagon against his compatriot Johnny Walker in October last year as part of the UFC Vegas 38 tournament. This fight ended in favor of Thiago by unanimous decision. He has 22 wins and nine losses.
