
Kenny Atkinson, head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been awarded the title of Coach of the Year for the 2024/25 regular season, as announced on the official NBA website.
The 57-year-old coach took over Cleveland just before the regular season began. Under his leadership, the team achieved an impressive record of 64 wins and 18 losses, securing a place in the NBA playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, the Cavaliers easily defeated the Miami Heat, finishing the series with a 4-0 sweep.
Previously, Atkinson was the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets for four years (2016 to 2020) before serving as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors.
