Former undisputed world boxing champion Buchanan dies at age 78

Scottish boxer Ken Buchanan, former undisputed lightweight world champion, has died at the age of 78. It was reported on his foundation's social media page.

"It is with great regret that we have to announce that Ken Buchanan passed away quietly in his sleep this morning. Further announcements will be made at a later date. Rest in peace, Ken," the statement said.

Buchanan won the WBA lightweight title in 1970 and won the WBC title in 1971.

The last time Buchanan stepped into the professional ring was in 1982. He had 61 wins (27 KOs) and eight defeats under his belt.
