Saudi entertainment minister Turki Alalshikh has responded to criticism of fights between Saul Alvarez and William Scull, as well as Ryan Garcia and Rolando Romero.

From this point on, I don't want to see any more Tom and Jerry-type boxing matches where one fighter is running around the ring and the other is chasing him. We can [no] longer support these kinds of fights with Riyadh Season and The Ring. We want to support fighters who leave it all in the ring and fight with heart and pride!
Recall, the fight for the undisputed super middleweight championship between Alvarez and Scull, held in May 2025 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), ended with the victory of Saul by unanimous decision.
In May 2025 in New York (USA), Romero and Garcia fought for the vacant WBA welterweight belt, which ended with Rolando winning by unanimous decision of the judges.
