Olympic champion Cruz about to make his professional boxing debut

Olympic boxing champion and 27-year-old Cuban athlete Andy Cruz has confirmed that he is preparing to make his professional boxing debut.

Thank God, I'm already taking that big step that a lot of people were expecting. I'm ready to tackle this big challenge facing me, and I plan on making great strides in the professional ring.

Cruz won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the under-63 kg weight class. In the final bout, Andy defeated American Keyshawn Davis by split decision of the judges. Cruz is a three-time world champion (2017, 2019, 2021) and two-time Pan American Games champion (2015, 2019) in the amateur division.
