The undisputed heavyweight world champion from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk, announced that he is already in negotiations for his next fight but refused to name his opponent.
Usyk said during a meeting with Ukrainian journalists:
When will I enter the ring? Next year. Moses Itauma? No, I won’t fight Itauma. He’s young, he might give me a thrashing. Besides, he said he doesn’t hit old men. I can’t tell you who, because negotiations are ongoing. I would be lying if I gave you a name.
Usyk last fought in July 2025, knocking out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round. His record stands at 24 wins (15 by knockout) with no losses.
