Wilder will fight Ruiz Jr. for the WBC world title

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has officially sanctioned the fight for the title of mandatory challenger for the heavyweight title between Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr.

The date and location of the fight is not specified.

Wilder, 37, last fought in the ring in October against Robert Helenius. That fight ended with a first-round knockout win over Deontay. He is coming off 43 wins (42 by KO) and two losses.

Ruiz, 33, defeated Luis Ortiz this past September by unanimous decision. He has 35 wins (22 by knockout) and two losses.
