Patrik Schick had a reply just before the first half ended. Julian Brandt tied the game at the forty-ninth-minute mark. The game kept going back and forth as Moussa Diaby gave Leverkusen a lead at the fifty-minute mark. Raphael Guerreiro tied the game at the seventy-one-minute mark. Haaland scored off a penalty at the seventy-seven mark and Dortmund sealed the deal with that strike.
