Bao Shanju and Zhong Tianshi broke the team record in women’s team sprint cycling by completing the race in 31.804 seconds. The pair also won the Olympic Gold medal in an enthralling race versus the Germans notching the race in 31.895 seconds.

The earlier record was also held by China’s duo of Zhong and Gong Jinjie but now it has been toppled three times during the 2020 Olympics, twice by China and then in the Finals by Germany. Russia Olympic Committee won the bronze medal by edging out the Netherlands.
