Azeem Rafiq apologizes for Anti-Semitic remarks

While the Yorkshire club has been embroiled ever since Azeem Rafiq opened about the racist culture there, the former spinner is himself now caught up in an awkward position. There are some Facebook messages from 2011 where he used anti-semitic slurs and mocked Jewish people then there is this meme where he denigrated African people.

So, overall, while Azeem is fighting for a much-needed cause, he has also made some discriminatory remarks. Thus, the player has now apologized and has said that he is “ashamed” about his behavior and that it was right to bring his own historical prejudices into the fray.

Azeem Rafiq
I have absolutely no excuses. I am ashamed of this exchange. I was 19 at the time and hope and believe I am a different person today. I copied this post from Facebook during a family dispute Clearly, I should not have copied this post and I apologise for the hurt this has caused. I don't know what on earth I was thinking. I have been clear over the past 16 months that I have made many mistakes and two of them have quite rightly been brought to the public's attention today.
