Cricket: South Africa announces squad for Women's World Cup

The Cricket South Africa(CSA) management has announced the squad for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in New Zealand. With designated captain Dane van Niekerk out, the team has announced Sune Luus as the captain. Lizelle Lee has also made her comeback to the squad after she missed the West Indies series due to COVID-19. Despite missing Dan Van Niekerk, there is no doubt that the team will be one of the favourites to win the cup because of their incredible balance and most players with more than fifty games under the belt. South African women are right now engaged in a thrilling cricket series with West Indies which is tied one-one.

South Africa’s World Cup Squad:  Laura Wolvaardt, Lizelle Lee, Sune Luus (captain), Chloe Tryon (vice captain), Mignon du Preez, Tazmin Brits, Trisha Chetty, Ayabonga Khaka Marizanne Kapp, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Shabnim Ismail, Sinalo Jafta, Lara Goodall, Masabata Maria Klaas, Tumi Sekhukhune.
