Four-time Formula 1 winner, Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, spoke to GPBlog about the possibility of joining Ferrari and shared his views on the matter.
Verstappen noted that Ferrari is a huge brand that attracts many drivers, but what matters more than merely driving for the team is striving for wins. He emphasized that if he ever decides to move to the Italian team, it would not be for the name alone but for genuine chances to win, which is his top priority.
And if you win with Ferrari, that's even better. And that's I think where you shouldn't let yourself get guided just because of the emotions and passion of a brand, you need to go there because you feel that is the right place to go. Will I go to Ferrari in 2026? If that's the right place to go, I don't know. We'll see of course next year, with the new regulations, it can mix up the whole grid again.
Recall that the 27-year-old Dutchman has driven for Red Bull since 2016. Verstappen’s current contract with the Austrian team runs through the end of the 2027/2028 season.
In the current drivers’ standings Verstappen sits third, trailing the leader, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, by 104 points.
