
Spanish driver of Williams Carlos Sainz Jr. commented on Lewis Hamilton's transition to Ferrari and shared his opinion on the difficulties faced by the Briton.
I understand his struggles, because I know how complicated it is. You understand why it’s so hard, because I’ve had to suffer through changing teams five times, and it’s something that was hardly talked about before, the adaptation process. Before, everybody expected you to be there by the third race. And I experienced it too, in every team I’ve changed. And before it was like people didn’t buy it, or saw it as a bit of an excuse.
The 40-year-old racer officially became part of the Italian team Ferrari since January 1, 2025.
In the current season, the Briton has not yet won at any stage of the Grand Prix. After nine races, Lewis Hamilton is in sixth place in the overall standings, 115 points behind the leader, Oscar Piastri from McLaren.
Note that for 11 years in the German Mercedes Lewis Hamilton won seven titles of Formula 1.
Earlier Lewis Hamilton admitted that he continues to hope for a trophy in the current season.
