Thailand to Submit a Bid to Host Formula 1 Race Stage in 2028

As reported by Reuters, in the coming days Thailand intends to send an application to hold a stage of Formula 1 in 2028 in Bangkok.

The country's cabinet meeting on June 4 will reportedly present a proposal for the bid and a techno-economic feasibility study. According to the Thai authorities, holding a stage of F1 will attract more tourists to the country.

It should be noted that the Chang International Circuit in Buriram hosts stages of the MotoGP World Championship.

After eight rounds of the 2025 Formula One season, Australian McLaren F1 Team driver Oscar Piastri leads the individual standings with 161 points. The next round, the Spanish Grand Prix, will be held on the Catalunya track in Barcelona from May 30 to June 1.

April 30, CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali said that the race organizers have extended the contract to host the Mexican Grand Prix until 2028.
