Four-time world champion Max Verstappen of the Red Bull team publicly apologized for his disappointing performance at the Spanish Grand Prix.
In his social media post, the Dutch driver explained that their strategy was good and the race in Barcelona was going well until the safety car came out.
He explained that the choice of tires and some moments after the appearance of the safecar made him very angry. This, he said, led to a wrong decision that should have been avoided.

I always give everything out there for the team and emotions can run high. You win some together, you lose some together. See you in Montreal.
Earlier Verstappen criticized two mandatory pit stops at the Grand Prix in Monaco.
