Afghanistan women's team participate in football game for the first time since exile

Afghanistan women's football team played their first game ever since they were exiled as the Taliban took over war-ravaged Afghanistan. They played in Melbourne, Australia against a team called ETA Buffalo in a game that remained goalless. Over 100 sportswomen migrated from Afghanistan as the Taliban doesn't permit women to take part in sports activiites.

It feels so good. We played again as a team. Together. That's the best part, that we have each other and we're again together. That's a good thing for all of us. The result is not important, actually, because we have each other. It's such a happy occasion for us.
