Argentina defeats Poland to advance to 2022 World Cup playoffs from first place in group

The national team of Argentina defeated the national team of Poland in the third round of the group stage match of the FIFA World Cup, which takes place in Qatar. The meeting ended with a score of 2-0.

Both goals were scored in the second half. 46 minutes into the match, Alexis Mac Allister gave the Argentines the lead after Nahuel Molina's pass. 67 minutes into the match, Julián Álvarez extended the Latin Americans' lead. In the 39th minute Argentine forward Lionel Messi missed a penalty kick.

The Argentine team has six points and takes first place in Group C. In the 1/8 finals Argentina will play against Australia.
