Barcelona and Spain defender Jordi Alba may terminate his contract with the Catalans at the initiative of the club, reports Mundo Deportivo.
According to the source, the management still sees the reduction of salary expenditures for the players as the main goal of the Blaugrana. After the end of Pique's career and the likely departure of Busquets, the next step is the parting with Alba.
The 33-year-old's contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2024. The defender will meet in the winter to discuss its termination. Alba has been with the Blaugrana since 2012, winning 15 trophies with the club.
At the moment Jordi Alba is at the disposal of the Spanish national team at the World Cup in Qatar.
