
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, former Brazilian international and Inter Milan defender Lucio was taken to hospital with varying degrees of burns and was placed in intensive care.
The 47-year-old footballer is being treated at a hospital in Brasilia. His condition is stable and doctors are continuously monitoring him. Sources said Lucio was injured in a domestic accident, however, further details about his burns have not yet been revealed.
Lucio was a key figure in the Brazilian national team and won the 2002 World Cup with the team. In eleven years, he played 105 international matches and scored 4 goals. Lucio served as the team captain from 2006 to 2011. In 2005, the Brazilian player won the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan.
